On tap. Pours a cloudy, opaque reddish brown with a lacing, beige head. Very neutral aroma, faintly caramellish perhaps. Medium body, odd bubblegummy flavors, yet super dry with a distinct bitterness. 210925

1 l growler purchased yesterday at the brew pub. Drunk at home. Murky golden in the glass with a more than one finger white foamy head. Caramel and honey on the nose. Taste starts sweet pale fruity with honey and caramel. Pale malty. Mid alcoholic bitterness. Below average carbonated. Not bad for a Heller Bock.

From tap at Schüttinger Brauerei, Bremen. Aroma is grainy malt, hay, straw, light bread, light grassy hops. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Very nice Kellerpils, a good example of the style and I didn’t mind drinking a second mug of this stuff.

From tap at Schüttinger Brauerei, Bremen. Aroma is malt, caramel, dark bread, with some Keller-ish hay and straw notes. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. Not as good as the Helles, but thanks to the Keller-ish notes it’s pretty good for a Dunkel.

1 l growler purchased today at the brew pub. Dark red brown in the glass, slightly cloudy, with a small pale beige head. Sweet malty and diacetyl on the nose. Taste starts also with sweet malt and a diacetyl shot. Increasing caramel and more pleasant in the second part. Soft bitter hops and nuts. Low carbonated.
