Established in 1983
In 1983, Paul Vanneste (great-grandson of the founder) founded the new De Gouden Boom brewery in collaboration with Frank Boon Brewery from Lembeek. In 1985 Brouwerij De Gouden Boom is granted a licence to brew the STEENBRUGGE abbey beers.
On 16 November 2001, PALM brewery acquired a majority interest in Brouwerij De Gouden Boom and in 2003 it was completely taken over by Palm Brewery. In the same year the Prior of St Peter’s Abbey in Steenbrugge licensed PALM Breweries to brew STEENBRUGGE abbey beers.
Since 2004 production of Bruges beers has been relocated to the PALM Breweries site in Steenhuffel.

4.8 ABV Smell- weak yeast, wheat, weak banana. Foam- thin, yeast, what, citrus, weak banana. Head is tiny white in color. Sticks a bit. Appearance- brewer bottle cap, simple label. Clear orange amber in color. From - snifter Taste - wheat, citrus, weak yeast, weak banana. Overall balanced not bad wheat beer. Faintly spicy.

Keg at restaurant jacob. Pours deep orange brown, nose is caramel, toffee, bready, taste is similar, sweet.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.0%. Hazy straw colour, large white head. Moderate aroma of wheat, dust, curacao orange peel and coriander seeds. Slightly sweet and citric flavour with the same elements, low bitterness.

Servida en tulipa, color oro anaranjado, turbia, copiosa corona de espuma blanco hueso bien retenida. Aroma intenso, con notas de fruta de hueso madura, piel de naranja, levadura, especias. En boca se muestra mayormente amarga de entrada, algo herbal y afrutada de fondo, robustamente especiada, potente, cuanto más atempera más se hace presente la sensación alcohólica, retrogusto bastante amargo. Una cerveza que sin ser mala mi cuerpo no me pide probar otra vez.

Bottle from the Low Cost Beer online shop. Pours hazy golden orange with a thin white head. Aromas of light spice and light banana. Taste has some grains, spicy yeast, faint floral notes. Thin finish.
