Description
In 1872, Jules Vanneste bought the ‘t Hamerken distillery. In 1889, he took the step of definitively converting the distillery into a brewery. Soon, ‘t Hamerken top-fermentation beers became a household name in the Bruges area. Brewing continued till 1982.

In 1983, Paul Vanneste (great-grandson of the founder) founded the new De Gouden Boom brewery in collaboration with Frank Boon Brewery from Lembeek. In 1985 Brouwerij De Gouden Boom is granted a licence to brew the STEENBRUGGE abbey beers.

On 16 November 2001, PALM brewery acquired a majority interest in Brouwerij De Gouden Boom and in 2003 it was completely taken over by Palm Brewery. In the same year the Prior of St Peter’s Abbey in Steenbrugge licensed PALM Breweries to brew STEENBRUGGE abbey beers.

Since 2004 production of Bruges beers has been relocated to the PALM Breweries site in Steenhuffel.

330ml bottle, Christmas present from Eric and Sylvie. Misty blonde appearance, pure white head. Pleasant, a touch peppery, nicely sweet. Fine straightforward Belgian blonde.

Klare goldene Farbe; sehr kompakte, mächtige und äußerst stabile Schaumkrone. In der Nase krâutrig, würzig, weinartig und leicht säuerlich, Mandarinen. Im Geschmack viel Frucht (Zitrus- und Helles Steinobst), Honig, leicht würzig-kräutrig, deutliche Süße, wirkt leichter als es tatsächlich ist. Insgesamt nur mäßig überzeugend.

bottled. A hazy orange color. Actually I thought it was pretty decent for a brugge beer not made in brugge.

Old rating from 06-07-15 - 330ml bottle, pours golden with white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of citrus, herbs, hints of spice & malt. Moderate body. Light bitter finish

For the second rate, I could say that it is a honest tripel, Belgian style 100%, yeasty, apricot, plum, warm alcool, to drink step by step. 14.05.2018, tasting it at Lausanne, Prélaz, buying at the closed grain d'Orges, Crissier.

25.07.25 Aromat przyprawowy drożdżowy, ciekawy estrowy owocowy. Klarowne, złociste, biała piana obfita Smak przyprawowy, owocowy, wytrawny ale słodyczy trochę jest Nagazowanie duże, musujące, treść średnia. alkohol czuć, ale nie jest źle. ogólnie piwo trippel w swojej postaci trochę za bardzo rozpuszczalnikowe, ale nie jest źle
