Poured up on tap at Monkey Paw in the distinguished company of 48FanInCali and hamilton23. It exhibits a clear gold body that supports a near white head of foam. The aroma offers up citrusy tangelo, resiny pine and then some mango. Nice. The taste feels soft on the palate to start and then it quickly gets into citrusy hop bitterness balanced by resiny pine hops. I like the balance and depth achieved with a pleasing mix of resiny hops and malt sweetened juicy citrus hop flavor.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma seems earthy. Med body or better. Flavor is earthy, somewhat fruity, perhaps a touch of treacle. Lots of hop, but finishes with more sugar and less bitter than expected. Slightly medicinal? Not a trace of heat. A bit off the beaten DIPA trail.

On my flight in the Brewpub on 18th March 2014. Strange baby really, mine came leaning towards ’pink’ from a copper start, the head full and white. The nose seemed be a mixed fruit baskets worth of everything, sweet citrus to more sour, grapefruit and lime style smells, you can add a couple of melons in there if you wish. Slight maltiness as it warmed a little. The taste was also very fruity and a mixture of flavours. Different and not too sure I liked it. Certainly not to my taste buds compared to the other three on the flight.
