Can. Just a mild haze on this deepish amber beer, good pale tan head. Airy palate that is also slightly viscous. Semi dry with good fine minerally carbonation coming through late on. Decent malt base, fairly light bodied but, chewy in flavour, malt cream, toffee and caramel. A savoury vibe runs throughout as well as a mild wet wood thing. Cherry liqueur really comes through on the finish, rich ripe Maraschino cherry, touch of almond pip. Everything comes together into a pleasing finale. Nicely done.

Bottle at home shared with Laura. Opaque black color, small dark brown colored head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, roast. Flavor is malts, dark malts, roast, peat but not too heavy. Very balanced so the peat is actually an addition to the beer. As it had been so many times, this is so incredibly well executed. Crazy.

Bottle at home shared with Laura. Opaque dark brown to black color, small beige to light brown colored head. Aroma is malts, chocolate, light liquorice. Flavor is similar, very pleasant malty chocolate and liquorice flavors in a balanced mix. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Lovely. I like it a lot. Not nearly enough RIS like this nowadays.

Fles gedeeld met en Nick. Het is een troebel roodbruin bier met een medium beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van rood fruit. De smaak is zoet en fruitig met tonen van eiken, caramel en vanille.

Aus der Dose im 2026-02 getrunken. Diese dunkelbraune Ale kommt mit einer deutlichen Malzaromen und Karamelisierte Milch daher. Alles gefährlich süffig und wunderbar ausgewogen. Auch wenn man hier nicht typische Barley Wine Aromen findet ist dieses Ale ein wunderbares Ale.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een diep donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een dun bruinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout, whisky en rook. De smaak is vol gebrande mout, chocolade, whisky en vanille. Met een rokerige afdronk.

Blik thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een troebel roodbruin bier met een volle beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van mout en kersen. De smaak is vol fruitig, zacht zoet en kersen achtig. Doet me denken aan een kersen bonbon.

Can. Bright clear gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, airy, good fine minerally carbonation on the back end. Good malt base, smooth and sweet. A nice light level of salinity gives way to juicy semi ripe lemon. Touches of zest and sherbet. Juicy smooth finish. It's a fairly simple affair but, done just right. Tasty and crushable.

Vrijwel zwarte kleur met een klein bruin kraagje. Dikke glutineuze drab onderin. Geur is geroosterde/gebrande mout, wat turf, alcohol, iets fruit/zuur (?). Retronasaal is het zoetig, alcoholisch, salmiak. Smaak is zoetig, drop/salmiak/umami, alcohol. Vrij volle body. Warmende alcohol. Lange afdronk.
