Description
Outland is a brewery founded in 2011 on the principles of American « homebrewing » : eclecticism, British and American inspired styles and recipes, technical precision, perpetual creativity and experimentation.

Outland is located in Fontenay-sous-Bois (Val-de-Marne), and the 300 square meter production site includes one brewing system and seven fermentation tanks.

Outland is the first French brewery to develop a range of « brut » beers, which have no residual sugars. Whether it’s our Session IPA, American IPA, or Brut IPA, the spotlight is on the fresh and fruity flavors that come from our hops !

We regularly collaborate with other artisans from a multitude of domains (cocktail, coffee, style, music, arts) to create original and festive events that are centered around the theme of quality « craft ».

Draught at La Fine Mousse, Paris, 5.2% ABV
Dark brown color, with seared reflex, small head. Some aroma of apples. The roasted malt flavor is present but less than in the English Brown Ale and Oatmeal Stout (tasted side to side), slighter less dry mouthfeel, more year fruitiness, strong bitterness.
More balanced than the English Brown.

Dark brown color. The dark malt and roasted malt aroma is nice. The flavor of roasted malt is a bit too strong, but there is some pleasant chocolate. Dry final.
Unbalanced.

The color is almost black; the head is small. It has nice aroma of roasted malts, light coffee and dark chocolate. Dry mouthfeel, weak body (weaker than expected); there is a nice flavor of chocolatey roasted malts and a light creamy line; correct bitterness.
The level of roastiness is kept under control, but the milky side is a bit overdue.

Cloudy amber color, without much head. Very nice aroma of fruity hops, yellow stone fruits, light mango, grassfields. The body is well structured, there is a good malt flavor, with a light crispness in the background, it gets drier in the end, and it has a high bitterness level, still with some interesting hop note. There are traces of yeast.
Pleasant, still a bit rough.

2012-09-24 & 2012-09-18, draught at La Fine Mousse, Paris
Cloudy amber color, with huge creamy head. Nice hoppy aroma, with citrus fruits and a musky edge. Good malt flavor, toffee; the bitterness is strong, the hops are very resiny, and lightly fruity; it has a peculiar spicy character, partially Belgian, partially herbal, mostly evident in the end. Long and powerful final.
Fresh and excellent.

Bottled. An unclear brown beer a huge tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and spices, leading to a dry finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
