Brasserie Corrézienne
Microbrewery
in Marcillac-la-Croze,
Nouvelle-Aquitaine,
France 🇫🇷
Associated Venue: Brasserie Corrézienne
Established in 2008
Description
This is how it all began: "I brought back a brewing kit from a trip to Canada in 1988. At first, everything was complicated: no raw material, no information ... The beer was undrinkable, but it was intriguing. With the advent of the Internet, I started talking to other amateurs to help me get started. " After a few brews and several months of gestation ... the first craft brewery in Correze was created in June 2008 ... on paper. Then after two or three developments, the brewery opens its doors at the beginning of summer 2009 at La Grange, in Curemonte.
Ten years later, the Brasserie Corrézienne, victim of its success, decided to expand and a new building is under construction, in order to be able to increase from 900 to 1500 hectoliters per year, for a potential close to double to medium term. "We have not been responding to demand for 2 years, a step has been taken!" An adventure to follow ... around a good beer of course!

Bottle shared at BBT 1/2022. Med-thin body, rather low carbonation. Assertive peated character, both in aroma and flavour. Med-high bitterness, combination peaty and hoppy. Low sweetness, despite moderate cocoa chocolatey maltiness present. Overall quite good, not very enjoyable to me though.

26/10/2019. Bottle from La Cave a Bulles, Paris. 9.0% abv. Pours close to black with a small tan coloured head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt, dried fruit, liquorice, fruit cake, cocoa and light spicy notes. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Full body and slick texture. Carbonation was quite fizzy which did detract from overall enjoyment but that aside this was pretty darn good.
