330ml bottle. Darkest brown, almost black colour with ruby shimmer and small to average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, dark malty and herbal, resinous, minimally fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of liquorice, a touch of salmiak, some sweet-ish, unspecific fruitiness, some zesty, citrusy fruitiness, orange peel. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty, bitter, resinous and slightly fruity hoppy, slightly alcoholic, hints of liquorice, orange peel. Slightly oily texture, smooth, soft, minimally greasy palate, medium o fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Quite intense, condensed, bitter, not overly complex - fairly passable.

Bottle. Color: Murky brown, thin beige head. Aroma: Rum, hoppy. Taste: Starting overwhelming Rum, going to a well balanced combination of Rum, caramel malt, floral hop, hints of chocolate and roasted malt. Long lasting finish. Medium body, just below average caronation. Moderate to over moderate sweet and bitter. Unusual BA combination leading to a very well balanced mix of flavors. Nice and interesting.

0.33 l bottle from 'Slijterij Berendsen', best before March 2026. Black with a large, frothy, stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, slightly fruity aroma of cocoa, coffee, hazelnut, vanilla and orange peel. Quite sweet, malty, fairly roasty, moderately fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa, roasted hazelnut, orange peel, vanilla and licorice, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter, just a little yeasty finish. Full body, very smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant stuff, quite intense and moreish, great mouthfeel, a bit yeasty, however.
