When my friend Michel K. bottled this beer, it was just called "Kriek" by Louis Cnudde. Mix of his brown ale, and the wild-fermenting cherrywine in the cellar...Anyway, this dates from the end of the eighties... Fully hazy red-brown, no head to speak of. Sweet impression, with condensed fruitaromas, bit of almondy from the stones, and already some oxydation (!). Very tart, frutiy, woody as nothing else, peppery-oaky, and deep-deep old cherries. And a few oxydation notes, oxydated walnutoil. Oxydation and age have made this lighter than it was. A superb blend. But then you ought to try the unmixed contents of the cherry fermenters...

Red brown beer with a disappearing off-white head. Weak horseblanket aroma. Dry and tart. Surprisingly close to the half-strength ordinary Cnudde.

From 5L party fass@fonefan/Brugmansia’s Cnudde tasting. Pours slight cloudy with a lacing white head. Light berry fruity aroma. Flavour is sweet and witha light berry fruity flavour. A bit more flavourful than the oudenaards. Lingering fruity finish with a light caramel malt and brown sugarish base.
