Description
We are Crooked River Brewing Co; a craft beer company based on the fringe of the Lake District in West Cumbria.

Our story began in 2022 when our town’s last active brewery; Jennings announced it’s closure. This loss represented over 150 years of deep historical significance and posed a threat to the integrity of our regions brewing heritage and cultural identity.

This motivated us to step up and do something to keep that heritage alive, and so, Crooked River Brewing Co was born.

Our beer is brewed at Tractor Shed Brewing in Workington thanks to the lovely team there who gave us a place to brew, sharing our vision to see greater diversity and reputation for great locally made beer.

Draught at Crafty"s, Darlington. Gluten Free. Golden colour, white foam head and aroma of tropical fruit, lemony citrus, hops. Taste is sweetish, malty, caramel, fruity, pine, with citrusy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, hoppy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Keg at Last Zebra. It pours every so slightly hazy yellow with a lasting white head. The aroma is fragrant, zingy, tangy, lemon parfait, sherbet, grapefruit, tangerine, some lychee, touch of soap and pine. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, nip of bitterness, pithy, zesty, grapefruit, orange, tangelo, lemon, sherbet, metallic twang, green, pine needles and well hidden alcohol with a drying finish. Medium body and perhaps slightly too high carbonation. Only complaint is the high carbonation. Nice overall.

Keg at Scott & Brassey, Carlisle Train Station. I5 pours hazy orange with a sturdy off-white head. The aroma is vibrant citrus, tangy blood orange, tangerine, kumquat, pink grapefruit, pomegranate, pine and resin. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, sappy, sticky, resin, pine, pithy, blood orange, pink grapefruit, tangerine, waxy citrus peel, nip of booze, fragrant florals and dry wood with a drying, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Rather impressed with this. Hearty and flavourful.

Can from Beer Ambleside.
Appearance - deep brown with a slightly off-white, creamy head.
Nose - brown bread, burnt toffee and faint chocolate.
Taste - chewy toffee, malt loaf and honeycomb.
Palate - medium bodied, roasty finish.
Overall - not sure that ticks all the boxes for the style. The base beer seems too light.

Can thanks to McCash. Pours solid orange with no head. Aromas of mango and coconut. Faint lactic sour. Taste is more coconut, mango. Thin, soapy finish. Doesn't really hang together well, can't find the pineapple.
