Can from Against The Grain. Hazy ruby/brown body with a beige head that holds well. No visible carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of toffee, treacle and espresso. Flavour of roasted malt, toffee and fig. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. This is all that I hoped it would be and more - a rich, full flavoured beer. I love a doppelbock and would love to try more of these from Closet Brewing.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours lightly hazy pale lemon yellow with a small white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, tinned fruit cocktail, poached pear, cracker, biscuit and a handful of pic n mix. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, mellow bitterness, cracker, touch of grass, straw, grain, flint, floury bread , tinned melon & pear and citrus rind with a dry finish. Light+ body and fine, prickly carbonation. Crisp and quenching, but not a huge amount to it.
