Pours a nice looking deep red to light brown, with a low to medium sized creamy, quite compact head that shows very good retention and a bit of lacing; looks pretty nice. Average intensity in the aroma: a quite decent malty depth with upfront nuttiness, light toffee, maybe a hint of caramel, some rye bread spiciness giving it a spark, nice fruity notes of figs and lighter cherries. Pretty interesting and overall well integrated. Taste notes follow the aroma, maybe with a bit less definition/brightness, average intensity: medium sweetness, slightly below medium bitterness, a bit of sweet edge in the mouth, a light earthy bitter edge in finish/aftertaste. Quite light bodied with slightly below medium, thin bubbled carbonation; drinks pretty easy, as you'd expect from a bitter ale. Very nice, slightly unordinary bitter.

Bottle from St Peter's Brewery near Bungay, Suffolk. Mildly hazy danker orange colour with a head. Light citrus influenced brew, mildly dry-floral and a good traditional English style texture.
