Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours a wonderful deep red, with fine whitish foam. Aroma is intensely malty, caramel. Body is average, with limited carbonation. Taste is medium-high sweet, but not too redundant in the final, which remains average in intensity.

Dark brown, good coffee foam. Aroma: caramel and blue plum, jam, esters. Sweetish taste, caramel, malty, a little chocolate, plum, a little spicy, a little earthy bitterness on the finish, for an amateur.

(Bottle, 0.5l, from Alko, 202311234) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, ash, vanilla and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, ashy and bitter. Nice.

Dark brown with a creamy, beige head that lingers. Aroma of honey, very dominant, with hints of Tootsie Roll. Interesting but less than enthralling. Taste is sweet, full of honey, with mild, roasted bitter undertones. Body to the light side of medium, decent chewiness. Too much honey in the mix and too one-dimensional. Drinkable in modest portions though.

10/11/2023. Cask at the Butchers Arms, Beccles. Pours clear deep golden amber with a small bubbly just off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, fruits, slight buttery edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Easy drinker.

Bottled. Deep ambery brown colour with a small creamy beige head. Aroma is toasted, some caramel, mild red apples, some berries as well as herbal elements. Flavour is toasted malts, some floral and wooden bitterness along with mild citrus, some berries and a mild yeasty touch to it. Nice creeping bitterness in the finish.
