440ml can from Craft Metropolis. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a huge, fizzy tan head. The aroma is liquorice, light alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, dry coffee, earthy, light chocolate, liquorice bitter palate. Over medium bodied with lively carbonation. Didn’t really get any caramel or peanut butter. Miso? The can was on the verge of exploding and had a very serious bulge at the bottom that suggests this beer has seriously overheated at some point. I’m surprised that Craft Metropolis even sold this.

Can split at Craft Beer Junction, thanks to LKS, 18/10/23. Black with a tan cap that thins over time. Nose is bitter roast, charr, spice, cocoa sprinkle, ashen tones. Taste comprises earthy roast, nutty, spice, lactic twang, tangy fruit rinds, charr. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Rather disjointed and a poor offering all told.

440ml can from the Offy, Whitstable. Poured a hazy reddish brown colour with a short-lived, bubbly white head. The aroma is big cherry, light vanilla. The flavour is moderate sour, light sweet, with a light, crisp, big tart cherry, raisin, light sweet vanilla palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Nice but the cherry really dominates.

Gravity cask at the Royston, Broadstairs, 29/03/24. Amber pour with a good sized light beige head. Nose is biscuit, toffee, herb, light yeast esters, hedgerow. Taste comprises caramel, dried fruit rinds, light spice, brown bread, stewed fruits. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Not bad ... not a style that's suited to cask but pulled off okay ... not likely one I'd revisit mind!
