Bottle from Asda Supermarket, Halifax. Clear pink with a small carbonation. Aroma is rhubarb with a sweetness in its nose. The ginger takes over in its taste, although certainly fused with the rhubarb, but it also provides a small spiciness in the palate. Overall it's not that appealing.

Pours gold, small head but retention only lasted a few minutes. Aroma has that crispness that comes from a Pilsner. Taste is sweet, grassy, some hops, light malts. Carbonation is good, a little watery. A nice bitterness at the end. Not bad for supermarket fare.

330ml can from Asda BBE in 12 months. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a fairly fizzy white head that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma of light tropical fruits and malts; pleasant but nothing that’s getting me excited. The taste is more complex than the aroma however, with the citrusy tropical fruit combining with a softer grapefruit note and the pine comes through with the light malts. A good combination of hops used here. Light to moderate body and medium carbonation. Its good.

Can from Asda, BBE in 5 months. Pours black with small fizzy white head which dissipates to leave some lacing. Chocolate, coffee, roasted aroma. Moderate carbonation and quite smooth. Taste is rich like aroma but with a milky note and a bitter finish. My first Milk Stout and it was good, a little on the rich side for me but maybe that's the fact I'm not a coffee drinker, and there were some noticeable coffee notes.

BBE in 9 months. Cloudy deep orange with decent small white head. Tropical fruit aroma with sweet malt. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation and sweetness. Taste is grapefruit, pine, caramel malts. Finish is a peppery dry bitterness. Not quite a wow factor but very enjoyable. Only my second APA after the Brewdog version. I wasn’t expecting a brewed for supermarket version to be better but that’s the fun of discovering new beers I guess.
