Cask @ Sportsman, Huddersfield. Clear golden with a thick head. It's crisp and hoppy with a citric fruitiness lingering behind this. There's lots of this in its nose too.

Cask @ Crown & Kettle, Manchester. Golden with a creamy head. Hoppy with a sweetened tropical fruitiness. The rye influence is low if any, but it's a fine ale anyhow.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Medium gold colour. Moderate haze. Tidy, off white head. Nose has clean, dry, biscuity malts. Some lightly savoury notes of tomato skin and wood herb. Touch of hop spice. A little minty and floral. In the background some pineapple flesh and overripe orange. Taste follows suit with a woody, herbal, floral bitterness. No sweetness here, particularly. Medium body. Oily and slick on the palate. Low carbonation. Bitterness lingers on the finish. Off the beaten path, definitely, and really enjoyable for it.

Cask. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Clear, pale, amber gold. Thick foam of lasting, off white head. Nose has buttery malts. Some chewy citrus. Not too much else going on. Taste is fairly bitter, feeling oily and a little stewed. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Stewed bitterness to finish. A Citra IPA from this brewer should definitely not be a buttery malt bomb.

Manchester Beer Festival 2018. Black with no head. It has sweet- hoppy dark malts that nearly get roasted. Might have been a little better kept away from this festival.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Mostly clear, dark chestnut brown. Swirl and bubbly ring of light tan head. Nicely leggy in the glass. Nose has Raspberry Ruffle chocolate bar. Freeze dried raspberry. Chocolate brownie. Caramel. Vanilla pod. Smells pretty fantastic and is nailed on fudge brownie, without falling into the trap of coming across artificial and sickly. Taste doesn’t necessarily follow suit, and has a fairly intense, fruity, roast malt bitterness up front, that evens out really well with that chocolate and caramel sweetness. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Nice stickiness on the lips. Twang of raspberry and roast malt bitterness on the finish. Wow. This is really good.

Tired at the Vat and Fiddle Nottingham. Almost black colour with a tan head. Aroma roasted malty and light chocolate. Taste light bittersweet. Such a full body. Nice beer

Cask at The Alexander, Derby, Derbyshire, Friday 16th February 2018 Pours gold with a great clarity, a tiny bit buttery, soft in the mouth, quite a sweet beer but gives a little resin edge. Like it despite the light butter edge. A5 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.3
