Bottle shared at Chris & Ruth’s pre-GBBF Shindig 2017 - Part 2. A slightly hazy deep golden beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of dry grassy and nutty hops. Taste of citrusy hops, spruce, mild reddish malt, long dry bitter finish.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Murky, amber colour. Thin, off white head. I can tell at a glance that the condition is way off. Nose has jammy malts. Some spruce and minty herb. Taste is sappy bitter, with some jammy sweetness. Heavy and sugary mouthfeel. Almost flat. Big bitterness to finish. What’s the point of brewing beer crammed full of expensive hops, and then having it bottled by someone who couldn’t bottle beer to save their arses? It’s like drinking a six month old US IPA that’s been sat in a shop window.

Cask @ GBBF 2016. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity citrus hoppy bitter aroma. Fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter finish.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Amber gold colour. Very hazy. Thin and sticky, bright white head. Nose is pretty malt forward, with fruited loaf. Some spicy biscuit. Hops are spicy, too. Some candied peel. Taste is fruity sweet, with soft, citrus bitterness. Plenty of body for the ABV. Fine fizz. Light bitter finish.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Very hazy, pale, amber gold. Decent covering of dense, clingy, white head. Nose has clementine pulp and peel. Some piny notes. Some earthy, raspberry pip type notes. Creamy malt background. Lots happening here. Taste is a little sweet, turning bright, pithy and zesty bitter. Mouthfeel is light, with a little hop oil slickness. Punchy bitterness to finish. Well on form.

9th July 2017: Sunday afternoon cask pint in ’Staggs Bar’ Musselburgh, first beer of the day. Clear light golden body, on top a long lasting white crown. Tropical fruits in both the nose and taste, slight herbal presence too. Bitter towards the finish of each sip and more citrusy as it warmed in the glass (pity about the citrusy flavour).
