Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Light amber colour. Fairly hazy. Messy, bubbly, white head. Nose has zested lemon and lime. Squeezed orange. Dry biscuit malts. Hint of something like white grape. A little pineapple, too. Taste is pretty zesty and tangy sharp. Packs a bitter punch. Fair amount of dryness. Clean and dry on the palate. Zesty bitter finish. Decent.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy gold. Some suds of white. Nose on opening the bottle is acetic. In the glass there are notes of citrus and tropical fruit, but overall it’s wet paper and cardboard. Taste follows up much the same. Dull, lifeless mouthfeel. Getting bored buying sub standard condition beer, from a brewer who I expect better of.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Very dark, cola brown. Super sticky, film of beige head. Nose has peachy hop. Charred grapefruit. A bit ashy and earthy. Taste is earthy, charred wood bitter. Light bodied. Maybe feels a little thin. More of the charred bitterness to finish. Ok. For me a black IPA works better when the ABV has some heft?

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Pale bronze. Soft haze. Foamy, thick, off white head. Notes of pineapple and grapefruit. Some pine. Spicy biscuit malt background. Taste has some malt sweetness, and light, crisp, citric bitterness. Light body. Spritzy carbonation. Light bitter finish. Good sessioner.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Gold, with a bit of murk. Thin and messy, lasting, white head. Nose has the promised citrus and floral notes. Hints of melon and spicy hop. Clean, dry malts. Taste is semi sweet with a spicy bitterness that builds. Crisp palate. Citrus peel bitterness on the finish, that dries out a little.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Murky gold. Few suds of white. Nose has some of that Oz white grape thing. Some tropical fruit notes, but overall this is clearly another North Riding bottle that’s in poor condition. Papery and fusty and earthy. (Just get the caps on right!). Taste is fusty papery. Dull mouthfeel. Barely any carbonation. Poor.

Cask. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Clear, dark brown. Messy, bubbly, beige head. Nose is nailed on Neapolitan ice cream, with an extra dollop of gooey chocolate sauce. Taste to match. It’s sweet and chocolatey with minimal bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Sweet and chocolatey finish. It’s an extremely well brewed beer, and obviously nails the style, but it’s not for me. Got to give it a decent rating though. I think?
