Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Opens more or less silently. Pours with few signs of life. In the glass, it’s lightly hazy orange. No head. Aroma is ripe orange, and ripe, peachy hop. A little pine resin. Lots of citrus fruit pithiness. Taste is pithy bitter. Some minerality. Lick of sweet on the lips. Barely carbonated. Still feels pretty clean, though. Finishes long, punchy bitter. The brewer of this reckons that this is his best beer yet. It’s a pity it’s gone a bit wrong somewhere along the line, as otherwise, I’d be inclined to agree.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy, dark brown. Messy, bubbly, sticky, tan head. Cocoa and raisins on the nose. Some brown sugar and treacle. Grassy hop. Taste is vinous dry. Light, roast bitter. Smooth mouthfeel. A tad watery. Finishes mostly bitter, with a dry close.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Pale gold, with a light haze. Thin, messy, white head. Lots of citrus to this. Orange, lemon, and a bit of grapefruit. A flinty minerality, too. Clean and zesty. Taste is crisp, verging on tart bitter. A little dryness is balanced out with a light, grainy sweet edge. Palate is crisp and cleansing. Finishes long, moderate bitter. Another cracking, hopped up, drink this all dayer.

Cask. Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield. Gold, with a light haze. Halo of white bubbles. Spicy, resinous pine needle. Pink grapefruit. Peach stone. Taste is juicy bitter. Quite resinous. Malt sweetness is well balanced. Palate is smooth, and a little oily. Finishes long, juicy, zesty bitter. Excellent sessioner.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Orange, with a light haze. Film of cream coloured head. Pretty tart lemon and green apple. A bit yeasty and wheaty. Taste matches, with a lightly acidic crispness. Bitter and dry in similar measure. Palate is light, with lively carbonation. Astringently bitter on the finish. Not wholly convinced this is right. Still crushed it though...

Bottle. Beer Stop, Dronfield. Opened almost silently. Hazy gold. A few bubbles of white. Citrus, and peachy notes. Biscuity malts. Taste is punchy bitter. Sticky lippage. Barely carbonated. Finishes pithy bitter. There’s a good beer here somewhere, but this isn’t quite how it should be.

Bottle. Beer Stop, Dronfield. Clear gold. Thin, lasting, white head. Big, berry sweetness. Ripe peach. Peach stone. Bit of a fusty, skunky, resinous thing. Taste is peachy sweet, quickly turning soft chewy, piny bitter. More of the soft chew on the palate. Finishes long, fruity, zesty bitter. Hard to believe this is only 4.3%. Lovely.
