Description
In the quaint little village of Cromwell, in the heart of Nottinghamshire nestles our modest brewery. Run by husband and wife duo, Ken and Fran Munro, true connoisseurs in craft ale with a motto for quality over quantity, we brew the finest, most flavoursome ales every time. We keep our base recipe simple using the four traditional ingredients hops, malt, wheat and water and have won numerous awards since opening our doors in 2004.
We supply cask and bottled beers to pubs, farm shops and breweries up and down the country. Brewing 5 days a week, we have a varied selection of ales, whether itโs a blonde you prefer, citrussy pale ales, red or amber bitters right through to porters and stouts we have something for everyone.

Cask at the Ale Rooms, Knowle. Poured a clear golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is yeast and biscuit malt. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a smooth malt, yeasty, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at Standing Order, Derby. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a small off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is mainly floral hops. In the mouth it is sweet and juicy at the start, but bitter undertones gradually develop. Floral hops and citrus to the fore in the flavour, plus traces of caramel, corn and pine. Finish is quite bitter and slightly sticky. This is decent.

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours golden yellow with a small off-white head. Not much of an aroma, just some hints of summer fruits and kiwi. In the mouth it is mainly sweet but with some underlying bitterness. Floral hops in the aroma, alongside gooseberry, citrus and grapefruit. Becomes quite bitter later on and this dominates the finish. Itโs OK, but too citrussy for my taste.

Handpull cask at the Kings Head, Leicester. Mid-gold and clear with a spotty white head. Some light white grape and gooseberry notes on the aroma. Sweet taste with moderate hop notes, some intense fruity bitterness on the finish. Medium body with little carbonation. Pretty darn good.

Cask at Old Dolphin, Derby. Pours a golden amber with a small scummy white head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly raspberries with a little added maltiness. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy, but with some underlying bitterness. Flavour has bananas, raspberries, some floral hops and a hint of currants. Finish is quite bitter. Decent โ I usually find wheat ales disappointing, but this is one of the better ones.
