Description
In the quaint little village of Cromwell, in the heart of Nottinghamshire nestles our modest brewery. Run by husband and wife duo, Ken and Fran Munro, true connoisseurs in craft ale with a motto for quality over quantity, we brew the finest, most flavoursome ales every time. We keep our base recipe simple using the four traditional ingredients hops, malt, wheat and water and have won numerous awards since opening our doors in 2004.

We supply cask and bottled beers to pubs, farm shops and breweries up and down the country. Brewing 5 days a week, we have a varied selection of ales, whether it’s a blonde you prefer, citrussy pale ales, red or amber bitters right through to porters and stouts we have something for everyone.

Christmas Eve Beers #2. Nicely crisp session hoppy ale, so slips down the palate with much ease. A few malts in aroma. Clear golden coloured with a thick frothy-creamy head. Mulled wine doing better than this one though tonight.

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A opaque black brown coloured pour with a decent khaki cap. Aroma is semi sweet, farmyard roast, plummy dried fruits, milky roast, lactose, light peppery spicy note. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rustic roast, liquorice, dark roast, tangy dried fruits, treacle. Palate is semi sweet, creamy, rounded mellow cask condition. Decent traditional stout.

14/11/2025. Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Good pour. Very nice aroma. Rich, fruit cake, chocolate pudding, dried fruits, hint of spice, with a smoky and coffee edge. Taste is medium sweet, light to moderate bitterness, slight ashy and fruity tart edge. Moderate body, oily, became a little thin. Soft carbonation. Doesn't totally follow through on a good start but still quite a drinkable drop.

Cask at Babington Arms, Derby. Pours a (very) dark reddish-brown with a medium sized cream head and good lacing. Caramel to the fore in the aroma, alongside plums and roasted malts. In the mouth it fluctuates between sweet and bitter, with flavour of dark fruits, malts and some hoppy hints. Hints of chocolate and blck wine gums later on as well leading to a fruity finish. This is quite decent.

Handpull cask at the Queens Road Tap, Leicester. Light gold, a little hazy with a small white head. Light aroma of grape, lime, gooseberry. Taste is not to my taste, sweet and quite astringent with some bitterness near the finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Not a great beer really, which is a shame as I've had some cracking Milestone beers lately.
