(Cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, London, 8 Aug 2010) Very dark brown colour with brief, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of dark fruit. Roasted, malty taste with dark bread, coffee, raisins and a fairly dry finish with a generous roasty bitterness. Medium body, dry. Nice and tasty porter.

Cask, handpump at The Royal Blenheim, Oxford 02.09.10 Pours chestnut in colour with a light beige head. The alcohol shows a little with its warmth, bit nutty & chewy, quite malty. It’s fine enough but on a par with many of the others that I’ve had from this brewery. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Straw coloured with a tight white head that laced the glass; sour grainy aroma; sweet tropical fruit flavour with a touch of citrus and a dry biscuity finish. A pleasant pint.

Cask@GBBF2010. Orangeish golden colour with a mediumsized off-white head that leaves slight lace. Aroma is mild fruity with some caramel malts and some slight herbal notes. Flavour is berries, fruits, some wheat and mild sweet malts. Refreshing, but not very exciting.

Cask@The Devonshire Arms, Cambridge. Goldeny amber colour, small head. Aroma is fruits, wood, some grass and mild grainyness. Also mild yeastyness. Flavour is much the same with also some quite sweetish malty and citrusy notes. Ending in a semibitter finish.

Cask@The Elm Tree, Cambridge. Very deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, some smoked wood, mild earthy notes as well as some liquorice. Flavour is sweet malts, some wood, syrup and mild earthyness. Pleasant stout.

Cask @ Blackfriars.Light orange colour, light pink head. Aroma of cooked vegetables, some wheat. Flavour is sweet raspberry, some wheat. Fairly sweet finish.

[Gravity cask at Chippenham beerfest] Bland and dull and watery. Not much here but a slight dry, bitter finish and the vague imaginings of bread and lemon.
