Cask (gravity) @ Smithfield Hotel, 37 Swan St, Manchester, Greater Manchester England M4 5JZ.Clear medium yellow orange color with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, toasted, butterscotch, light to moderate hoppy, orange, grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20090121]

[Cask at the Nag’s Head, Reading] Pours amber with a small white head. Lots of floral hops, developing into an earthy bitterness. Refrshing and more-ish - and got better the more I drank. Good stuff, I enjoyed this (seems I’m the only one here who did though!). Based on appearance and flavour, I would suggest it’s more of a bitter than a golden ale.

Golden color, thin head. Average simple Ale, just a notch above, say, Boddington’s (and because it doesn’t have the widget). Boring.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a hazy and opaque orangey brown with a dense, off-white head. Aroma of wood, dried fruit and a whiff of Brett. Medium body with dried fruit and again pleasant Brett notes. Quite lovely really although I’m not sure that those Brett accents were intended. 230808

Cask handpull at Market Porter. Haze, red, bit of orange colour. Fresh on. Decent condition. OK red berry fruit, some yeast. OK fruity strong bitter.
