Description
In the quaint little village of Cromwell, in the heart of Nottinghamshire nestles our modest brewery. Run by husband and wife duo, Ken and Fran Munro, true connoisseurs in craft ale with a motto for quality over quantity, we brew the finest, most flavoursome ales every time. We keep our base recipe simple using the four traditional ingredients hops, malt, wheat and water and have won numerous awards since opening our doors in 2004.
We supply cask and bottled beers to pubs, farm shops and breweries up and down the country. Brewing 5 days a week, we have a varied selection of ales, whether it’s a blonde you prefer, citrussy pale ales, red or amber bitters right through to porters and stouts we have something for everyone.

Cask handpull at Fat Cat, Norwich. It was advertised the first night as Headbanger, but it changed on the second day to Homewrecker and that is what is on Beermad.org.uk so it is good enough for me. Ruby colour, thin beige head. Good dark malts, like a strong dark mild, quite lively in mouth. Surprisingly good. Very choccy, a little one dimensional, doesn’t drink 4.9%

Cask handpull at Lower Red Lion, St Albans. Quite a malty toffeeish beer. You know what? I rather like it. Good hops on end. Bit of choc. Something like a chocolate lime.

Cask conditioned at the Royal Oak, Oldfield Park, Bath 11/5/07. A very easy drinking session bitter. Golden coloured with no head. Aroma and flavour were both of hops without being overpowering. Finish was nice and bitter.

Cask conditioned at the White Lion, Bristol 10/5/07. Near black with a long-lasting tan head. Aroma was of dark fruit. Beer was smooth to drink with flavours of roasted malt and some residual sweetness. A pleasant pint.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured a dark brown colour, some sweet maltiness on the aroma. Tasted a bit sweet, but with fruitiness, a bit of a dissapointment really having enjoyed one of their beers in cask recently.

Cask at GBBF 2006. A hazy orange bere with an orange head. The aroma is sweet with powerful notes of fruit and a light touch of diacethyl. The flavor is not very Belgian inspite of its commercial description with notes of honey and floral hops towards the end. OK, but definately not what it promises.

500ml bottle. Pasteurised and filtered. Deep copper colour with thin white head. Biscuity malt. Some malt fruitiness in mouth and then, oh dear, it’s pasteurised. So candy sugar and empty in mouth. Prickly carbonation some hop on end. Pasterurisation kills the beer. Some choc malt.
