Description
The original Ashover Brewery was founded in 2007 and over the years has won numerous industry-wide awards for their beers. Unfortunately, due to several factors the brewery then slipped into liquidation in early 2025.

However, a group of locals believed this was a great loss to the area and decided to do something about it and Ashover Brew Co. was born...

Our vision is to create beers that are as unique and varied as the people who enjoy them. We want to create beers that are approachable yet complex, with something for every palate. But at the same time, we want to stay true to our local roots - everything we do is inspired by the area’s rich brewing history and the stunning Peak District that surrounds us.

Cask at Steel City Beer Festival 2014 at Kelham Island - Nearly jet black body, beige top. Bit of roasted malts on the nose, a bit of cream there too. Nice creamy mouthfeel gives the diacetyl in the taste a bit of emphasis and making it go down quite well. Very smooth.

Cask at Steel City Beer Festival 2014 at Kelham Island - Clear yellow body, thick white head, rather bubbly. Nose is odd, smells sort of citrus, but not in a nice way. Taste is just bland with a slight hoppy kick at the end. Sorry Ashover, bit of a let down this one.

Cask at Steel City Beer Festival 2014 at Kelham Island - Hazy straw gold coloured body, thin wispy head. Nose has an artificial ginger aroma to it, similar to powdered ground ginger mixed into cake batter, a bit spicy. Thin on the taste, and on the palate, a warmth at the end reminds you this is ginger. Not overwhelmed by this one.

Bottle, picked up at Original Farmers Market Shop, Bakewell, Derbyshire, August 2014 consumed at home Sunday 5th October 2014 Pours cloudy silvery/gold colour. The nose has a light almost appley and lemony zippiness. In the mouth this is tart and sour but not ever so, its refreshing and tangy with a little zippy jiffy lemon and a light fruity twang. Its a damn good beer, like this. A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov15 3.6
