Cask gravity @ Reading Beer Festival 2008.Clear dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, coffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter (malt bitter) with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. (010508)

Cask gravity @ Reading Beer Festival 2008.Clear medium yellow color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, toasted, light to moderate hoppy, citrus, fruity. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (010508)

[i] Cask conditioned at The Cross Keys, Belper, 17-01-08 [/i] Very Pale golden in colour with a tiny bit of haze. The nose on this one was a little more sulphourus than it’s stablemate [i] Poets Tipple [/i] which I had first, but there was also some light fruitiness on the nose and then in the mouth. Lovely bitterness, great session beer, really impressed with both of these beers.

[i] Cask conditioned at The Cross Keys, Belper, 17-01-08 [/i] Poured amber in colour with great clarity and a tiny rim of bubbles for the head, it looked great. A slightly sulphourous nose leads to a wonderful fruit and toffee combination in the mouth, a very good beer.

Cask at Peterborough Beer Fest. Clear golden. Aroma of vegetables and honey. Sweet and a bit sticky with rounded mouthfeel. Some more honey before a short salty bitterness sets in. A quickly forgotten beer that won no place in my heart.
