Tap at the Great Beer Bar, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, liqouirce, spicy, herbal. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter with a big, all consuming fresh green chilli spice palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not the hottest chilli spiced beer I’ve had by a long way, but this certainly packs a punch. If you can’t eat a fresh green chilli then it’s best not to order this!

Tap at the Great Beer Bar, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Poured a hazy golden colour with a thin white head. The aroma is malt, grassy, light weedy, tropical citrus hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a malt, weedy citrus, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Oxidised very quickly after being poured. I’ll need to be quicker next time!

The aroma is roasty malt, caramel, light liquorice, charcoal, light coffee. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter with a light, smooth, roasty, liqouirce, coffee palate. Tap at the Great Beer Bar, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Poured a light hazy golden colour with a big lasting frothy white head and plenty of bubbles. The aroma is big lemongrass, some malts, mineral. The flavour is light sweet, with a light, crisp, malt, light citrus, lemongrass hop palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Avoid if lemongrass isn’t your thing, otherwise it’s a decent, refreshing session beer that makes a very pleasant change from the macro lagers of Malaysia.

Light but not too light. A fine session IPA.

The flavour is light bitter sweet with a light, slightly watery, herbal tea, big Indian methi, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. The really overriding flavour is dank dry methi leaves soaking in water. That’s great for a curry, but not sure about a beer.

The flavour is moderate to light sweet with a fresh, smooth, grainiy, Pandan, dry floral hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. It’s all about the Pandan as it says on the tin which means you will either love or hate this beer.

The flavour is light bitter sweet with a smooth, grainy, light toffee, herbal, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A rather unusual style and quite drinkable. Much better than I expected.
