Description
A pioneer of the Brisbane craft beer scene, Green Beacon was founded in 2013 with the vision of creating a world class beer culture for the people of Brisbane.
It started with two mates and a couple of beers on the sandunes of Moreton Island, Queensland. Looking back over the bay towards Brisbane, a Green Beacon was spotted, an idea then sprouted, and Brisbane’s first craft brewery was born. The doors to Green Beacon’s Teneriffe brewery were opened on the Australia Day weekend of 2013.

Can. Hazy orange. The three fruits are there on nose, and very consistently in mouth. Lactose is there too to sooth some of the juicy/hops burn. Fun, but I wouldn't want many.

On tap at Bitter Phew. Pours a clear yellow with a slight gold hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of straw with grains and a hint of grass underlying. Flavor is also full of straw with hay and grains backing.

From a 375ml can on 10/12/2018 (ABV listed as 5.8%). Pours a slightly hazy light golden with a medium bright white head. Has a zesty, citrussy nose. Flavour wise, you get bready malt, passionfruit and lemon, with a pretty firm bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Tasty enough.

'Can. Cloudy pale orange with a large white head. Vibrant aroma of passionfruit, Meyer lemon, pineapple, peach. Soft and fruity with crackery malt and a little resin building to a fairly bitter finish. Certainly reminds me of Pizza Port beers. It''s nice this fresh, but I would have preferred a more defined malt presence. '

At a tasting, thanks, smallish bubbly head, light hazy yellow color with a greenish tinge, aroma of citrus, lemon and wheat, flavor of orange marmalade, candy and a touch of graininess, light citrus bitterness. Fair, a touch old.

Can. Dull orange with a white head - a little hazier than a hefe. Aroma of blood ornage, grapefruit, crackers, minor light savoury herbal notes. Light bodied, lowish carbonation. Feels slightly gritty and astringent. Citrus flavours meld pretty well but there's not much else until medium high bitterness and light astringency come in. Not really my sort of thing.
