750ml bottle [#957/2200]. Jet black colour with small to average, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, tan head. Roasty and chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of mocha, espresso, coffee, sugared coffee, dark chocolate, sweet-ish, caramel malty background, liquorice overtones. Taste is roasty and chocolately, dark malty as well as sweet-ish caramel malty, notes of mocha, espresso, coffee, sugared coffee, caramel, dark chocolate; minimally warming, alcoholic finish with weak liquorice overtones.
Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, slightly cloying, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation.
Very nice coffee flavours, flattering sweetness, not overly complex, almost a bit monotonous though, or, more positively, very focussed; sadly minimally overcarbonated - very tasty in all its "simplicity".
Mediocre concerning "secondary" qualities (appearance, texture), in a way rather "primed cold coffee" than beer, but in the end a very tasty concoction.

On tap at the Brazen Head, Dublin on 16th July 2025. Almost clear copper with shallow foam and scant lacing. Malt aroma with earthy spices. Leafy hops and caramel malts in-mouth, and a finish of maltiness and hints of fresh orchard fruits. Light bodied with a crisp mouthfeel.
