Bottle from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. Dark amber. Slightly opaque. Foamy off-white head soon recedes. Aroma has grains, malts. Some spice. Flavourwise is then unexpectedly sour - berries and rye. Develops hints of sweetness, moreso into the finish. Caramel and fruit. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Enjoyable and easy drinking.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, amber colour with average, dense, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Slightly zesty, citrusy fruity, minimally piney, hoppy and slightly sugary, pale and caramel malty aroma, hints of lemon, orange, mandarine, pineapple, candied orange peel. Taste is sweet-ish, minimally sugary, caramel and pale malty, crystal malty, slightly citrusy fruity hoppy hints of lemon, orange, candied orange peel, lemon zest.
Watery texture, slightly smooth, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Fairly refreshing, a tad too sweet and sugary - decent.

0.75l bottle thanks to Lore. Hazy orange/brown body with a pearl head. Aroma and taste of raisins, cinnamon, apples, caramel, orange zest, floral hops and some peated malts. Bold, smooth and complex beer. Not so much of a doppelbock for me, but who cares, it's great.
