Dark brown to black with a tan head. Sweet malt, a bit of fruit, sweet cocoa, molasses. Void of roasted notes. Full bodied. Not bad. Very sweet.

On tap at Grumpy Old Men, pours a cloudy chestnut brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out light English hops, some toffee and bready malt. Flavour is not too far from an authentic one, with toasted bready caramel and English hops in good balance. Finishes with dry toasted caramel, just a hint of sweetness. Very pleasant - my favourite of the MBF beers.

On tap at Grumpy Old Men, pours a hazy dull golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out soft wheat and bready malt. Flavour is soft, with pillowy wheat, sweet cereal malt and bready notes. Soft and easy to drink, with a lingering light sweetness. Clean and drinkable, but boring.
