Tap (The Catfish, Melbourne). Classic sample of very good, hoppy Black IPA. Full od hops with resin notes, roast, dark malts and medium, resin bitterness. Refreshing, light in overall, drinkable beer.

Tap (The Catfish, Melbourne). Clear, golden colour. Aroma is malty with resin and citrus notes from hops, intense and aggresive. Medium do high resin bitterness, intense and aggresive, full od hops. Malty body with delicate booze at the finish so bitterness seems to be higher. Nice IPA.

Tap at Beer De Luxe, Fed Square, Melbourne. Poured a hazy straw colour with little life. The aroma is yeast, grapefruit citrus. The flavour is moderate to light sour with a fresh, crisp, funky dry light spice, tart grapefruit citrus palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Clean, fresh, crisp and with a real kick. Great for a taste but not for a session.

Clear pale amber beer with thin white head. Medium carbonation. Nose is fresh cut grass and pepper. Medium body. Taste is bitter, finish is grassy, resiny, earthy. Long dry finish has sour notes. Unusual Pils, lots of flavours. Not very grainy.

On tap at Vultures Lane. Pours hay colour. Golden syrup, peach syrup, syrup soaked biscuits, vegetal syrup. Very syrupy in body too. Thick, sweet, cloying. The extra hops don’t really help. Not my thing.

Taster at GABS Auckland 2017. Pours pale. Grapefruit, bread, acid. Reasonably simple, but tasty all the same.
