Beer Number 1 at the Bradford Beer Festival 2025. Brownish with a bit of that style incorporated alongside coffee notes and a hint of sweetness.

Can, gift from Mum - cheers! Dark brown with a rapidly vanishing beige head and a light to middling fizz. Big aroma of fudge and chocolate syrup made me fear this would be too sweet and fake. The taste though is much better than the smell though - chocolate cake, chocolate liquor, a light roastiness and a touch of cream. It's sweet but nowhere near as sweet as the whiff made me fear. Rather enjoyed it actually.

444ml can from Tesco. hazy yellow pour, golden, softt, fluffy white head. Fruity aroma, citrus, and stone fruit. Taste is fruity, zesty adding in some tropical notes to the aforementioned citrus and stone fruit. Creamy, thick feel. Really tasty.

On the day the Baltic states' divorce themselves from the Russian power grid, today's deadication brew is for Peter The Great, who died on this day. It's an easy hopped session ale with a crispness fit for an Emporer.

How I've managed to get a table in the middle of an England versus France Six Nations fixtures at a Wetherspoon is a mystery, but a ray of light guided me to my seat to enjoy this soft textured lightly malty somewhat traditional brew.
