Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from ’EDEKA Preller’, best before January 2018. Clear, golden yellow with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, a bit grassy aroma of grains, some straw and a touch of cardboard. Slightly sweetish, moderately bitter, quite malty and a little grassy taste of grains, straw and hints of cardboard, followed by a short, quite bitter, slightly dry and minimally metallic finish. Medium body, slightly chewy and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, there’s worse.

Sampled from 0.5 l bottle from local ’trinkgut’, best before August 2017. Clear, very dark reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, bready and a bit grassy-spicy aroma of caramel, nuts, dark honey and hints of marzipan. Quite sweet, malty, slightly bready taste of caramel, nuts, dark honey and some marzipan, followed by a short, slightly bitter, minimally grassy-spicy and finish with a touch of cardboard. Almost medium-bodied, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

500ml bottle, drank on 6th May 2017, 7 days before it’s BBD. Looked and had the aroma of an Alt but it seemed thin and too sweet throughout for me. Did not enjoy it.

0.5 l bottle from local ’trinkgut’, best before January 2018. Hazy, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, grainy and metallic aroma of wheat, unfermented wort and some iron. Quite sweet, slightly grainy and a bit spicy taste of wheat, unfermented wort and bread, followed by a short, minimally bitter, a little sourish, slightly spicy finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite drinkable and refreshing but just very bland.

Bottle @ home shared by Thompson. Clear golden color, medium sized white head that lasts for a short while. Aroma is malts, bitter hops, straw. Taste malts, straw, bitter hops, bitter. Nice clean and crisp pilsener. I quite like it.
