Pours a nearly clear gold with some clumpy white head.  Nose is a bit old school and new school, oranges and melon and grass, malt and honey, some vanilla.  Not entirely west coast, vanilla and honey hit first, followed by some tropicals and then some C hops.  Kveik yeast maybe?  Bitter finish but also creamy and again reads a bit of a hybrid.  It's good but not entirely what you expect nor what you want.  7 3 7 3 13

Sample at the brewery, murky lollipop pink with pink head.  Sweaty nose, white berry, a little lollipop, canned peaches.  Flavor is nice, berries and oranges and some pineapple even.  Finishes tart but fruity.  Really easy to drink.  7 3 8 4 14

(473ml can from Beergium) Pours pitch black with a pale brown head. Pretty sweet dark chocolate, toffee and molasses body which is certainly rich and malty, moderate roasted grain and coffee bitterness, nutty toasty accents, a little vanilla creaminess, quite sweet sugars dominate the sip though with a drying finish thanks to booze and a little bitter roast. Medium-full and oily to syrupy body with soft carbonation. A bit heavy and boozy overall without much that jumps out, though it was certainly quite solidly crafted for a big stout.

16oz a thick, cola black with a mountain of dark brown head that faded to some clumps. Nose is big with malt soda, cola, rootbeer, chocolate soda, vanilla, caramel. Flavor has all those sodas and such, malt and caramel and rootbeer and cola, there is a super chewy character, clear brownie here, caramel. Finishes off dry, lightly sweet, lightly oily.

On tap at the Civil Society Anniversary. Pours a cloudy orange with large frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is dank and citrus. Slick body, juicy, grapefruit, pine, light resin finish, very good.

Pint at the brewery pours a clear gold with some clumpy white head.  Nose is nice, very welcoming, pineapple and green grape and jasmine, floral too, some soap.  Flavor has lime and pine and mango, soap, herbs, grapes are there but there is more citrus now.  Finishes crisp and clean on the tongue.  Beers like this make you thankful there is no lactose or oat.  8 4 8 5 15
