Description
Since the brewery was founded, the Gemünder brewery has been brewing excellent beer specialties, such as the Eilfeler Landbier, the Ur-Gemünder Obergärig and now also the Steinfelder Klosterbier, following the best brewing tradition with the highest demands on quality and taste.

The Gemünder brewery is a progressive, family-owned company. It has modern facilities in all work areas. But we are always aware that technology must have no other goal than to make with the greatest care and craftsmanship the best of what hop gardens, grain fields and the good Eifel water offer.

Bottle: Hazy, copper coloured, smaller off-white foamy layer; faint dark-malty nose with even fainter traces of roasted malt and vegetables in the backyard; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied; slightly drier delicate dark-malty and extremely light bitter finish. A drinkable, but very inoffensive brew...........

(bottle) Hazy, copper colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Yeasty and sweet, slightly toasted malty aroma with caramel, nettle-like spices and a subtle fruity note. Light-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Toasty malty with caramel, cacao and shy fruity elements; faint bitter and slightly toasted finish with subtle fruity notes in the aftertaste. Might be a good session beer. 03.IX.09

from BTO 03/2007: Danke an den Doppelbock. Schäumt stark, viel Kohlensäure. Süßlich malziger Antrunk, Mitte, Abgang und Nachgeschmack sind deutlich hopfiger und leicht zitronig. Leichte Hefenoten.

from BTO 03/2007: Danke an den Doppelbock!

from BTO 03/2007: Danke an den Doppelbock. Sehr fruchtiger Eindruck, insgesamt deutlich herb untermalt. Viel CO2. Insgesamt eines der besseren Kölsch-Biere, obwohl dieses ja geographisch gesehen gar keines ist.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts dry and hoppy, turns then vapid. Finish almost washy, metallically notes. Should be more spicy.
