Description
Since the brewery was founded, the Gemünder brewery has been brewing excellent beer specialties, such as the Eilfeler Landbier, the Ur-Gemünder Obergärig and now also the Steinfelder Klosterbier, following the best brewing tradition with the highest demands on quality and taste.
The Gemünder brewery is a progressive, family-owned company. It has modern facilities in all work areas. But we are always aware that technology must have no other goal than to make with the greatest care and craftsmanship the best of what hop gardens, grain fields and the good Eifel water offer.

It is a typical landbier of Bavaria, sincerly it is not the best one that I have tried, really metalic, roughat the palate, not aromatic, 08.05.18, at Lausanne, Prélaz, buying it at the ex Tanta Emmen grocery shop, at Paris.

Pours a clear, pale blonde. Medium small white head, very stable. Scent is mild, fresh maltyness, silent on yeast and hops. Taste is medium mild, some bitterness over a pleasant malty base. Not very characteristic as a Kölsch, but not a bad beer at all to me. It's rather weak, bland, and generic, seemingly a typical lager, rather than a Kölsch; therefor i understand the lower ratings. However, I can't be to mean about a beer thats free of real off-flavors, and is - for what it is - enjoyable, in a way. Just think of it as a random cheap lager, and this suits expectations.

0.5 l bottle from 'Getränke Hilgers', best before April 2025. Hazy, deep reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, minimally fruity-floral aroma of grains, caramel, honey and some nuts. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, a little fruity-floral taste of caramel, grains, toasted nuts and a touch of honey, followed by a short, gently bitter, a little metallic finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Decent beer actually, not overly deep maybe but quite quaffable.

Bottle from Gabriel - Cheers! Rocky beige head on a still black coloured body. Minimal aroma of sarsaparilla & malt. Medium bodied, soft & smooth thinning out to a clean back. Malt, Coco-cola, aniseed & berry tastes with syrupy finish. Quite a tasty one.
