Description
Ossett Brewery purchased the Fernandes Brewery and Pub in 2007. Proud of its heritage and under the watchful eye of head brewer Paul Spencer, Ossett Brewery has continued to brew many of the original beers, whilst also devising many new brews which have become firm favourites. Brewer, Steve Hutchinson, now brews around 90 different beers a year from the pale ‘Straw-Weight’ at 2.8% to impenetrable black, full bodied stouts, such as ‘Voodoo’ at 5.0%.

Skipton Beer Festival 2016. Black in colour. Has a fuller flavour despite a fairy easy-drinking texture with a good and slightly gritty roasted mlat in both aroma and taste.

Cask at The Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Light golden coloured with a small head. Hoppy in the main, with a light bubble-gum sweetness in its taste.

Cask (gravity) @ NWAF 2016, National Winter Ales Festival (2016), The Roundhouse, Pride Park, Derby, Derbyshire, England, DE24 8JE. [ As Fernandes Schnappy Blonde ].Clear medium orange yellow color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, fruity malt, citrus, peach. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, pale malt, fruity malt, peach - citrus, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20160219]

[ As Fernandes Black Voodoo ].Clear dark brown color with a small, frothy - fizzy and open, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate, dark malt, orange, orange chocolate, vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, orange, sweet malt, dark malt, light vanilla. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20160219]

Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Poured almost black with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is smoky malt, light cherry. The flavour is liqourice bitter with some light sour notes and a crisp dry, light cherry sour, light smoky malt palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
