Description
Ossett Brewery purchased the Fernandes Brewery and Pub in 2007. Proud of its heritage and under the watchful eye of head brewer Paul Spencer, Ossett Brewery has continued to brew many of the original beers, whilst also devising many new brews which have become firm favourites. Brewer, Steve Hutchinson, now brews around 90 different beers a year from the pale ‘Straw-Weight’ at 2.8% to impenetrable black, full bodied stouts, such as ‘Voodoo’ at 5.0%.

Tried at the Cardinals Hat, Lincoln. Golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma and taste light soft fruity, light sweet, with a mid bitter finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 8/3/2016. Golden in colour with a thin, off-white, head. Biscuity malts, a touch of tangerine fruits, leafy hops and a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a thin head. Hoppy and fruity, both of which hide its strength.

Cask @ The Sportsman, Huddersfield. Golden with a creamy head. Has a dry-floral infused tropical fruitiness in both aroma and taste, with a slightly stewed character.

Tried at the the cardinals hat, golden colour with a big white head. Light citrus and pine straw aroma. Taste bitter sweet decent body.

Wakefield Beer Festival 2015. Golden coloured. It does taste like rhubarb and custard, similar to the boiled sweet.

Wakefield Beer Festival 2015. Extremely mild with its spice, disappointingly so to most I would expect, although it is evident. Fairly palatable ale indirectly because of this.
