Cask cellar run at Ship & Mitre April Fest 08. Gold, nicely hoppy beer. Hop is mostly English I guess, EKG maybe. Hops are good, quite aggressive on finish. No great depth, bit grapey/grapefruit on flavour.

Cask gravity at The Ship & Mitre pub beer festival, Liverpool. Deep chestnut with disappearing beige head. Decent best bitter, good toffee malts. Some dry malt, little bit nutty. Bit of choc. This was a pretty good best bitter.

Cask gravity at The Ship & Mitre pub beer festival, Liverpool. Pale gold, no head. Soapy pale gold session beer. Not one of the better ones, but all of it’s ok. Probably the best name of the festival beers and I enjoyed asking the barmaid for it.

Cask handpull at Market Porter. Pale gold, thin white head. Very citrusy beer, good pale citrus flavours. Mouthfeel is pretty deep, good lasting zingy citrus finish. Very perfumey. Very very good pale gold citrusy beer. Don’t know what the rest of the rating says as I was quite drunk by this stage, something about not over doing something and something else about peach and grapefruit.

Cask at FFTMC, Oxford 22-03-08 This was a very good beer but suffered from having been ordered at the same time as the Dark Star Six Hop, lets face it, it was on a hiding to nothing after that. This poured light gold with just a thin film of tiny bubbles masquerading as a head. Nice honey sweetness and hoppiness is there and all underpinned by a lovely malty underbelly. It’s a bit loose in the mouth at times but nonetheless its still a damn decent beer that I just wish I’d have had before the all conquering Dark Star Six Hop.

Cask gravity at Bricklayers Arms 2nd Annual Yorkshire BF 08. Gold with lasting white head. Good condition. That is a really good beer. Not a huge aroma, but the mouthfeel is good. Hop on finish is nice too. Decent strong gold beer.

Cask at The Wellington, temple Hill, Birmingham 01-12-07 Fairly standard golden ale, with few if any redeeming features, unfortunately found this to be a bit warm but maybe this was due in part to the place just being absolutely rammed, unable to write any notes at time as there was barely enough room to move. But poured golden with thin white head, some light juiciness followed by slight bitterness. Nothing special.
