Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy, slightly murky gold. Thin, bubbly, sticky, lasting, white head. Light, spicy malts. Crisp hop. Apple. Cut grass. Definitely get the Sorachi. Bit of flora. Taste is light bitter. Some dry. Crisp, lightly tart mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Finishes with a lingering, rising bitterness. Bit of an earthy hop thing on the close.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy, mucky gold. Film of lasting, white head. Some decent fruit salad shizzle to this. Bit of an orange sherbet thing, too. Smells really fresh. A little cut grass. Taste is crisp, pithy bitter, with a light tartness. Fresh, zippy, crisp palate. Finishes long, juicy, citric bitter. Smells lovely. Drinks super easy. North Riding are the Kernel of the North?!

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy, slightly murky, gold. Film, and a few bubbles of white head. Peach, and strawberry. A bit leafy. White grape. Bit of lemon. Sweet, and pithy, at the same time. Taste sets off sweet, quickly turning full on, pithy, grassy, skunky bitter. Soft carbonation, with a lightly oily palate, albeit one that gets a bit watery. Finish is long, pithy bitter. Lacks body, unusually.

Bottle. North Riding Brew Pub, Scarborough. Hazy gold. Film, and a few bubbles of white head. Crisp, tart, lemon hop. A little floral spice. Light on the malts. Very zingy. Taste is crisp, crunchy bitter. A light dryness to it. Clean, refreshing palate. Super drinkable. More of the crisp bitterness on the finish. Plenty of punch at the ABV.

Cask. Shakespeares, Sheffield. Clear, copper colour. Bubbly, patchy, lasting, just off white head. Lovely, spicy, juicy, light resin hops to this. Some ripe berry fruits too. Big, toffee malt backbone. Taste is resinous, spicy bitter, with a chewy toffee sweetness. Smooth, quite rich palate. ABV isn’t apparent, mind. Finishes long bitter, with a lingering lip coating sweetness. Ridiculously drinkable. Fantastic. (My last rating was the best cask beer I’d had in ages. Then I had this...).

Bottle from Drink?, Hebden Bridge. Golden-amber in colour with a bubbly head. Has a soapy-stewed fruit aroma and taste with a light bitterness attached. Quite strong but not overbearing.

Cask. Shakespeares, Sheffield. Clear, pale gold. Very bubbly, lasting, white head. Big, Nelson hop hit. Fresh, fruity, white fruit goodness. Rich, sweet, malty backbone. Really well balanced. Taste is soft, zingy, bitter. Palate is smooth, and full bodied. Finishes long, lasting, tangy bitter. Low ABV, single hopped beer at its absolute best.

Cask at the pub itself, memory banks rate, must have beer Summer 2011. Pours pale gold, thick white head. Aromas of grapefruit and light pale malt. Good balance, nice bitter finish.
