Gravity pour at Steel City Beer Festival 2024, Kelham Island - really milky looking yellow, no head. Smooth stone fruit forward drink, almost smoothie in texture, some dry citrus and grass finish.

Cask. Gravity dispense. Steel City Beer Festival. Worty nonsense, much like a load of others here. Add berry mosaic on top and it’s not ending great. Imagine banging a fresh brewed beer into a cask and several minutes later expecting it to be good.

Can. Beer Central Sheffield. 1 of 24 apparently. Clear gold. Decent sloppy white head. Cardboard and wet paper. Barley sugar sweets. Underneath there’s some pink grapefruit at a push. Some phenols. Taste is super sweet with a jarring bitterness. Feels heavy and boozy with fine carbonation. Sweet heavy finish. Looks good.

2nd June 2024
Panda thanks to Cloin. Almost clear deepish gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Thinnish pale malts, but it's just mouthfeel, enough sweetness here to balance the hop delivery. Airy pine over juicy ripe citrus, a good mix of mellow peel and slightly brighter citrus. Mild tropical fruits really help this one along. If yer gonna do West Coast, stick some modern hops in there.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy pale golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of pine and grapefruit peel. Flavour of lemon, sea salt and piney hops. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A clean, classic west coast IPA.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 14/05/24. Almost clear golden blonde with a good sized lasting white head. Nose is bitter orange, grass, light pine nip, herb, citric tinged straw. Taste comprises bitter orange, grass, light pine needle, melon, grapefruit, citric tinged straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with grassy hop bitterness. Okay stuff if a touch raw.

440ml can. Lightly hazed orange gold, white head. Aroma of citrus fruits and earthy pine. Taste is also quite earthy, with pine and citrus fruits, resinous, biscuity malts, good bitter finish. Medium bodied. Solid westie for a first effort, might have expected a little better with Elusive's involvement though!
