Bottle from the Portmeirion gift shop. Pours clear deep golden with a thin white head. Aromas of light malt, faint woody notes. Taste is bitter, caramel, woody again. Bitter finish.

Nose - caramel biscuits, some vanilla going into toffee.
Taste - chewy toffee, honeycomb and brown bread.
Palate - medium bodied, chewy middle and roasty finish.

Slightly hazy golden with a big white head. Aroma of malts, hedgerow, straw. Taste is fruity, hedgerow, toffee sweetness, biscuity grainy malts, a bit vegetal, finishing bitter which is just a tad harsh as Graham mentioned himself. Light-medium body. Indeed, just okay.

15/8/2026. Bottle at the EFL season kick-off Saturday beer share. From Portmeirion village. Pours okay, bring and clear. Aroma is grainy, wet, cardboard, citrus, grass. Medium sweet, moderately bitter. Touch earthy. Lively. I’ve enjoyed this prisoner series but not this one.
