Taster at the tap room. Clear amber, work a thin ring of foam. Nice standard hoppy nose. The taste has some more fresh and rainy hop to it. The alcohol does hide here, and probably won't creep up on this small glass. Again, sticks straight ahead to the style.

Starting a flight with this. Hazy straw color with a this bit of foam. Nose is indeed pumpkin pie spice and some vanilla giving us the side of whipped cream . Taste is, yes, spice, vanilla and some other cake-y notes. Not thrilling, I'll say, but am interesting taste that delivers as promised.

16 oz. can from Fresh Thyme, DG. Orange nose is rather light here. Pours slightly hazy gold with another tinge of orange and a foamy head. American wheat base means a somewhat mild beer. Orange adjunct starts to come up after a few more sips, plus a spicy notes from wheat malt and perhaps the coriander.

Tap at 93 Octane. Sort of buttery caramel aroma. More or less a classic APA, just sort of amateurly executed. Heavy crystal malts.Drinkable, but not quite good.

Tap at 93 Octane. sort of off, unappetizing aroma. Flat out mediocre stuff, coffee hads definitely imparted some off tones. Sweet, sugary..doesn't really drink like a porter, more a sugary sweet Stout. Drinkable, but no way commands bar price.

16 oz. can. Pours a respectably hazy gold color with a thin layer of foam. Light but juicy hop nose. This is over a year old, so a firm hop nose is good to find. The malts in the palate are still bright, the beer is bubbly, the total package is pretty well balanced.

Taster #25 at Beer Under Glass. 93 Octane just may be the true undiscovered gem of Chicago. Will have to drink more beer to decide. I had to go into this because it is it is there, and I've cleansed my palate with enough light lagers. Black body in the sample glass, with no foam of course, even though it's poured from the tap. Sweet smell of bourbon with very little Stout malt. it's another freaking incredible Imperial Stout.

16 oz. can from the brewer-owned PRIDE convenience store. Basic hefe smell, a slight note of malt with spice from wheat, and a subdued note of coriander. Brassy color with a very light haze, just no hefeweizen type foam. Taste is pretty good, though. A bit more of what the nose promised. Malty with an edge of wheat. A bit of ester and slight touch of coriander. Pretty nicely done
