Dark clear brown ale with a thin moka head. Wonderful prunes in aroma, with brown sugar, hops and floral soy sauce. Just like candy! Blended malts and smooth butterscotch and hops. Rich and smooth in mouth. Merci mon clutant! Enjoyed at YEHa!05 Christmas Party on Dec. 17th, 2005.

Old bottle shared by Yowie at the Ratebeer Mondial tasting on 6/4/05.
Ruby-magenta body with an amber-auburn tinge on the sides of the glass. Clear. Beige bubbles fizzle quickly to a ring. Smells of intense sherry, light hints of soy, thick, salty barley and black malt. Rich and decadent, I can smell what this beer must have been like. Flavor of earthy, dirty yeast. Scotch whiskey and rich toffee. No alcohol noted. Sweet honey-cream on the finish. Rich, lovely barley and a single-malt scotch finish supported by copious amounts of sweet toffee. Smooth, lightly creamy mouthfeel and a full body, with low carbonation. Reminds me of Thomas Hardys, which is a great thing.

Sulphury yellow, sweetish. I really don't like tasting a new beer at the brewery and having to pretend it doesn't blow.

Richly malty, with a choclate accent. Reddish-brown colour. A lot of depth, with a huge body and underlying alcohol presence.

Wheat beer straddling the German and American styles. That is to say a reduced amount of phenols and refreshing body.

Pleasant altbier, better than some of the larger German ones (Hannen, Diebels, etc.) but certainly falling short of the brewpub examples like Im Fuchschen.
