Description
The Brewery Michael Plank was established in 1617. It is a small, family owned business that is now under the direction of the 16th generation Michael Plank.

The current Michael Plank is now the brewmaster and is credited with honing the traditional recipes to their current levels which have led to the company being named as the "Best Small Brewery in the World" at the 2006 & 2012 World Beer Cup! That makes Plank the only brewery to have been awarded this World Beer Cup....twice.

09-06-17 // 500ml bottle shared. Interesting and weird because not very common. A dark radler...the maltiness increases the sweetness of the beer, paired with the lemonade its very sweet. Not my beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dunkles Radler on 09 Jun 2017 at 23:09 - Score: 5

(Bottle, 0.5 l - BB 02.03.2018, at Ølhus Stockholm, 20170421) The beer poured dark brown and nearly clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had spiciness, caramel, molasses and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were spiciness, banana, sweetness, malts, caramel and bitterness. Aftertaste had clove, malts and bitterness. A nice sweet weizenbock.

Tap @ William K, kurvi. Poured deep amber color with a thick white head. Aroma has ripe banana, clove and candy notes. Flavor has wheat, sweet ripe banana, mild spicy notes. Sweet long finish with banana candy and wheat. Sweet but ok drinkability. Quite tasty.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Hazy dark mahogany, bug beige head. Smells of dried bitter cherries and clove, winey notes. Not very malty and not hot at all. Chewy mouthfeel, moderately sweet and vinous rich taste - dried cherries, almonds and cloves, fermenting plums along with some acetone. Surprisingly, it is less sweet than Helles variety, and more sophisticated too. Very good.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Clear pale straw, white head. Grainy malty, some wet grass but not much good hops. I’m even getting some DMS. Pretty sweet pale malts, downright honey, but with a pretty big bitter kick. Again, some stale notes - Must not be at its best. Not bad, should be fine when fresh.

BOTTLE 50 CL, only 2 months to BB date. Hazy dirty amber, spongy white head. The aroma is vaguely fruity, a little hot an pretty spicy - not as intense as expected. Prickly carbonation. The taste is of a sweet wheat beer, but not much more than that. For a weizenbock, just mediocre.

Hazy honey yellow. Tall dense white head. Well-lacing. Concentrated spicy yeast on nose. Lots of clove, banana sweetness. Oh I love it. Medium body. It tastes surprisingly dry. Nice yeast profile. Spicy, fruity, yummy. Low bitterness. No regrets about it. Highest class.
