Description
The Brewery Michael Plank was established in 1617. It is a small, family owned business that is now under the direction of the 16th generation Michael Plank.
The current Michael Plank is now the brewmaster and is credited with honing the traditional recipes to their current levels which have led to the company being named as the "Best Small Brewery in the World" at the 2006 & 2012 World Beer Cup! That makes Plank the only brewery to have been awarded this World Beer Cup....twice.

0.5 l bottle from ’Biermuda’, best before May 2016. Cloudy, dark brown with a huge, creamy, stable, tan head. Sweetish, yeasty-spicy and minimally fruity aroma of banana, clove, nuts and some dark ripe fruits. Sweetish, yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity taste of banana, lots of clove, nuts, bread, chocolate and some dark ripe fruits, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, yeasty-spicy and lightly warming-alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Moreish and satisfying, great stuff!

0,5 l bottle. Unclear dark orange in the glass, big foamy white head. Low fruity nose. Taste starts with some fruity elements and present wheat, sweet. Alcoholic background. Thins out to the end. Expected more power and heaviness, but still okay.

(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, orange-golden colour with a huge and firm off-white foamy head. Fruity and slightly floral hoppy aroma with notes of citrus, banana, lychee and mango, backed by mildly caramelly malt and wheat. Moderately sweet and delicately sour-tart flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Wheaty taste with notes of cara-malt and present fruity and slightly floral hops, lingering into the sweet and slightly sour finish with a balanced malt and wheat character. The alcohol is quite well-hidden. Rather a Weizenbock/Wheat Ale than an IPA, nevertheless a likeable brew. 18.III.15
