Description
The Brewery Michael Plank was established in 1617. It is a small, family owned business that is now under the direction of the 16th generation Michael Plank.

The current Michael Plank is now the brewmaster and is credited with honing the traditional recipes to their current levels which have led to the company being named as the "Best Small Brewery in the World" at the 2006 & 2012 World Beer Cup! That makes Plank the only brewery to have been awarded this World Beer Cup....twice.

Is a weizenbock supposed to be this deliciously balanced between cloves and banana esters and malt sweetness? Cause this is delicious!

Darkest hefe ever? Definitely delish though, love the canned unfiltered-ness. Nice banana and spices.

Bottle picked up from Michael Planck brewery webshop, and consumed at home Tuesday 14th September 2021 whilst cooking a Seafood Stew and listening to Steve Lamaqs Evening Session on 6 Music. Pours warm gold with a white head, only a light haze. Fruity but the banana and clove elements are really shy here. Light sweetness, it's ok, actually it's better than ok but not amazing.

Bottle picked up in a mixed case from the brewery webshop and consumed at home sat outside, it's been a very hot 🔥 weekend but looks feels like we may get a thunderstorm soon, had this Sunday 15th August 2021 cooking a homemade Canelloni and about to put on some tunes. Pours dark amber, hazy, mid sized but not hugely impressive white head. Nice mouthfeel, soft, light banana, however not so noticeable on the aroma. Trying this alongside the masters of this style namely Schneider Weisse. Good beer but in terms of their output I prefer their lagers.
