On tap at Barion, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of Christmas spices, sweet toasted caramel, and bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with sweet caramel, anonymous Christmas spices, and bready malt, with a slight tang on the finish. Thin palate, with little depth, just lots of spice and sweet malt. Not great.

330mL can, pours jet black with a large tan head. Nose brings lots of roasted barley, a bit of dark dry cocoa powder, and a touch of earthy coffee. Flavour is hearty, with oatmeal, roasted barley, a little dry cocoa, and some coffee. Low residual bitterness but a nice hearty mouthfeel holds this together. Very good.
