On tap at BareWolf, pours a clear dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is fairly complex, with plenty of red wine barrels, some tannins, and light wild yeast. Flavour is not exceedingly acidic or vinegary, with red wine vinegar, balsamic, some Worcestershire sauce, and bugginess. Real nice attempt at a difficult style. It’s not totally bang-on—maybe a touch too much balsamic and residual sweetness, and just not enough complexity. But it’s done very well.

On tap at BareWolf, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has crunchy wheat and toasted bread. Flavour is much the same, with crunchy herbaceous notes, light esters, and toasted bread. I don’t really how this style is supposed to be, but this isn’t working for me.

On tap at BareWolf, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some grassy hops, straw, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour has some moderate grassy hop bite, with a crisp biscuity malt. Could do with more bitterness but it’s got good structure. Solid.

Smells like an amber lager of some sort. Or, obviously the rich maltiness I associate with amber lagers, since this isn't a lager. Hay, wheat, random rustic grains, mineral and a sweetness that I'd maybe guess to be corn (but isn't). Rich and aromatic.
Spicy weizen esters and phenols in a rich, but nicely crisp, lager-like format. Deep malts with soft touches but also a crusty, breadiness that keeps it balanced. Not sure I'd ever choose this over a classic lager of the same variety; I'd rather taste lager yeast, malt and hop than clove, pepper, lemongrass and bubble gum. But it's certainly interesting and very polished. Incredibly well-done for what it is. I should really keep drinking more of their beers. They're usually good-to-great.

Some juicy, round, tropical fruit pitted against more austere, acidic lemon character. Round, seemingly succulent malts balance appropriately. Bit of graham cracker/biscuit on the very end.
Soft, nicely malty and attenuated. Lemon is woven in to juicy tropical fruits. White bread and hints of graham cracker from the malt easily balance. There's a noble attempt at bitterness and I think it mostly succeeds, but I wouldn't hate a bit more, or perhaps a bit less roundness/sweetness.

Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a two finger off white to cream colored frothy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: roasted dark malts, black coffee, dark chocolate and a little bit of woodiness
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to roasty quality; finishes dry with a light dark chocolate bitterness
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable; good smoothness with a light dryness trying to grind into the tongue in an acceptable sort of way; good carb level
Overall: pretty good Irish dry stout.

Dark mahogany pour and small sudsy head. Nose is caramel and earth leather. Tatses of sasparilla, earth, caramel, oysters, hint of dates and fig. Little bland a dull palate missing some of the mild texture I love.

Can (1/5/25) from the brewery. Hazy gold, no sparkle, thin head with trace lacing. Aroma is tart fruit, lightly funky, light bubblegum, ginger-ale quality. Taste is strong bubblegum, wheat--more reminiscent of a Hefeweizen. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. A little something here for everyone but not totally attractive to me.

16 oz can. Aroma is bubblegum, clove, and maybe some wheat. Flavor follows with maybe a little bit of black pepper. This certainly leans more toward a Hefeweizen rather than a true Belgian / French Saison. Good.

Can (12/10/24) from the brewery. Opaque dark brown with nice sparkle, thin head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is strong caramel, toffee, milk chocolate. Taste is strong toffee, roasted malt, late hint of oak. Smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Pretty good complexity for a brown.
